"Winslie"
The newest Paddle Pup!
Over the past two years, I "lost" my first three German Wirehaired Pointers - the loves of my life. Not one day goes by that I don't think of each of them. They were so uniquely different. Yet, they all loved to participate in everything including upland bird hunting.
Gosh, I miss them so.

Three Women to Thank!
I've had the pleasure of working with three German Wirehaired Breeders over the course of the past 15 years:
Jan Nahorn of Mason Creek Kennels (Oconomowoc, WI) who bred both Wyeth and Wilbur. Her slogan was: "Hunting ... it's what we're all about!" And, in truth, my two oldest Ws were hunting machines and just lovely dogs. They were The Paddle's first mascots and, with much chagrin I'm sure, they put up with me dresings them up for every special occasion and holiday.
Angie Johnson of Reece German Wirehaired Pointers (Polk City, FL). My wonderful "heart dog" came from her - WyNott. Trained by Joe Carito of Wind'em Kennels in Connecticut, this little girl received her Natural Ability Prize - a perfect score. She was a dock diving nut, a frisbee machine and my constant companion who always greeted our Paddle guests, day in and day out.
And, my third connection to this breed is both Chef Phoebe's and my current breeder and friend - the phenomenal Dee Donohue of Double D's Picards and German Wirehaired Pointers (Umatilla, FL). Wilbur, Phoebe's Willoughby and my new little girl, Winslie, hails from her kennel. Dee is always available to answer all my questions and/or concerns and stays in touch on a regular basis.
